Too tired/Busy to think of a title

As I mentioned in my last blog, my first Paris visitors have arrived!

They got here Wednesday morning and it's been a whirlwind since. I wasn't able to meet up with them until after work on Wednesday, but they managed to find my apartment and do some mini-sightseeing unti I got home. Wednesday night, we walked along the Seine River, searching for the Bateaux-Mouches (night-time tour boats), but were unsuccessful.

Instead, we headed to the Champs-Elysees for a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower, and some French cuisine. Mmm...rich buttery mashed potatoes.

Yesterday, Missy and Erin worked the tourist scene, visiting the Louvre and Musee D'Orsay and more. After work, I decided to throw a dinner party, inviting my usual girls, so Missy and Erin could get a taste of the real Parisian lifestyle. According to our French amies, it's more common for friends to get together for a dinner party than to go out to a restaurant because restaurants are so expensive here. The spread included roast chicken, sausage, salad, veggies, fresh bread, cheeses, and desserts...and of course, plenty of wine! My new apartment was the perfect location, and it was another successful Parisian party.

Although we were all tired, I decided I had to show Missy and Erin some of the night sights. So I herded them on the metro to Opera, so they could see the Opera House, Galleries Lafayette and the sophisticated side of Paris, and then we walked up to Moulin Rouge to see the raunchier side of Paris, ending with Montmartre for the historical/artsy side of Paris. It took a little longer than expected since my tour guide/directional ability is slightly sub-par; however, we did manage to find the crepe stand right before it closed so they could get the #1 quintessential Parisian delicacy: a Nutella crepe.

I'm dragging a little today, but I will pull it together for a fun-filled weekend of sightseeing (they are shocked that I have done nothing in the form of tourism since I've been here), friends, and of course, food.
