New Friends and New Travels

I am blogging during work today because I am too tired to think and too excited to concentrate.

Too tired because I was out late with the American Craig's List girls last night. We met at Cafe Flore (old Hemingway hangout) at 9 pm and ended up talking past midnight. Either we were all starved for some American conversation, or they are really cool girls and we're going to have some fun times in old Paris!

We also discovered the most amazing little gem of a place. We were walking down the street looking for an open crepe stand, and just standing there, glowing brightly in all its glory, was a little store titled "Snack Time." We didn't even have to walk inside to catch the wafting sweet smell of freshly baked cookies, and the savory richness of quiches, gourmet pizzas and cheese sandwiches. Needless to say, I will have a standing appointment at Snack Time at least once a week (possibly twice...three times...)

Now onto the excitement - I just booked a ticket to Milan for the second weekend in March. I'll be flying into Milan, taking a train to Genoa, and visting a friend for the weekend - who may be picking me up from the station on a vespa?!?! Beat that Lena (Jenny I know you had to catch that Sisterhood of the TP reference). On Sunday, I will be taking a train back to Milan, leaving myself enough time to enjoy the sights. What historical sights do they have in Milan you might be asking yourself? Churchs, monuments, buildings? Hell if I know...I was thinking more along the lines of Gucci, Dolce, Fendi... :) :)

Alright, it's about 5:30 - time to get the vodka out of the freezer and set up for the work party.
