The end is coming soon...

Last Tuesday it started. The goodbyes...

My office had a goodbye party for me. It was a little premature, but my boss was going out of town so that was the last time everyone in my office would be together and available. Goodbye parties, welcome parties, we just finished a report parties, it's Wednesday parties, and everything in between are very popular at the IEA. However, these parties usually only last an hour or two as people are busy rushing off to families and dinners. You drink some wine, eat some chips, say a few words, then part ways with your coworkers until the next day.

For some reason, last Tuesday, things were different. Yes, there were chips. There was definitely wine. And there were a few parting words (and a parting gift!). However, we started the party a little early at 5:15 p.m., and then we plowed through EIGHT bottles of wine and didn't leave the office until 9 p.m. It was some work fiesta! How can I go back to a world where drinking 8 bottles of wine about 10 feet from your desk is not ok?

Needless to say, I was just a little tipsy leaving the office... After we cleaned up, Rachel and I ventured off to La Palette to meet Patrick. Don Juan that he is, he had another girl with him (different one every night), and of course, he bought us multiple bottles of wine.

I think it was around 2 a.m. by the time I made it home. Luckily I wasn't the only one hungover at the office the next day....

I'm going to miss my little work family. And I really do feel that, working in this apartment setting, we are a family. With our kitchen, and our showers, and working in such an open environment...and of course...arguing over dishes and who left the toilet seat up. Ok, too early to get sappy now!
